As a core gamer I've never spend a thougt how video game box arts would appear to non gamers (I leave that to Nintendo), but some of the suggestions are quite funny. Then again: How do we define "normal" people. To me as European living in Germany those US west side folks look like an attraction themselves. Anyway, have a look for yourselves:
The soundtrack of Red Dead Redemption fits perfectly to the game and the whole western theme. But to be honest: It can stand for itself as well. It's so good, I find me listening to it, while doing something for my studies. Another not so funny story: I own the Red Dead Redemption Collector's Edition and in this version of the game, the soundtrack should be included. But it was only a download code and when I tried to download it, it didn't work. I had to pirate my legitimately bought soundtrack. They should just've included it on a seperate audio CD.
StarCraft II has an amazing 96% on gamerankings. Not that I'd expect anything different, but since I'll be dependent on pc gaming from September to January (semester abroad) I am looking out for good PC games. I'm a bad RTS multiplayer gamer, but I know Blizzards single player campaigns are always top notch. So, who knows, propably I'll get this game sooner or later.
That's what this trailer says. It made me wonder if that is true. And it made me wonder what my most anticipated game of 2010 is. It sure was Mass Effect 2 and it was Super Street Fighter IV. And when I remember, I watched the Red Dead Redemption trailers a hundred times. My most anticipated game that has yet to come out would be Fallout: New Vegas. That's a game for months to play. What do you think? What is your most anticipated game of 2010?
I was young and the Sega Mega Drive (called Genesis in the US) was my first console. Still I have strong memories of it. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 was my favorite game for the Mega Drive. There are some other good ones shown in this vid, like Beyond Oasis (Story of Thor in Germany) or Vectorman.
A video of the launch event for StarCraft II showing people acting like Diablo III came out and another video showing the ending sequence. I don't have to mention you shouldn't watch it if you want to play the game.
Millions of people have waited for this to happen. Two videos from Blizzard: First one shows a bit of the campaign, second one introduces the new Battle.net.
Release is Fall 2011 and that's hopefully enough time to create a unique game. As far as I can see from this trailer, this game has all the clichees but nothing that stands out.
Finally Capcom listens to the fans. Would you kindly go to Capcom Unity and tell Seth to HD Remix it?
-- Ono announced no specific details for it, saying they're "going to take our time to bring this out" and that it's "not going to come out in the immediate future, but just let everyone know that Street Fighter 3 is coming back." Ono also told fans that if there are any features they want to see in it, then "go to Capcom Unity and tell Seth Killian."
This looks very solid. Notice that the ultra/super is changed to your partner hopping in and beating the enemy up? If there'll be a real Tag Team mode remains to be seen. Ono really is the man for fighting games.
Not really a surprise, but Street Fighter X Tekken, the rumored Capcom Vs Tekken, has finally been announced. Working on the Super Street Fighter IV engine it will be 2D and remains in the art style of Super Street Fighter IV. You can see 35 screenshots here. But yet there's no media for Tekken X Street Fighter, which will be developed by Tekken producer Harada at Namco.
Though it is said that the game will take a while to come out and people can still have enough fun with Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Don't forget Mortal Kombat coming back to it's roots
THE HEAVYWEIGHTS OF THE FIGHTING WORLD COLLIDE AS CAPCOM ANNOUNCES STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN
London, UK - July 24 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games today announced that Street Fighter X Tekken is in development for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®. The title will make history as fighters from these two bastions of the fighting genre come together for the very first time.
Utilising the same technology that powered Street FighterTM IV & Super Street FighterTM IV, TekkenTM characters such as Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams will make the transition into the Street FighterTM universe having been re-imagined using the much loved art style of these seminal titles; while retaining their unique characteristics and signature moves as they go head to head with classic brawlers from the Street Fighter franchise in what promises to be the ultimate match up.
As in Street Fighter IV, gameplay will feature fully realised 3D character models battling for domination in both new and familiar highly detailed 2D environments that are brought to life with engaging animations. In addition to modes such as Versus and Training that will feature new enhancements to make the fighting experience more in-depth and enjoyable, Street Fighter X Tekken will include Tag Team combat where players select two fighters to deliver knockout assist attacks and special combos.
The announcement, which took place at Comic-Con in San Diego in front of thousands of Street Fighter fans, was made by the Producer of Street Fighter X Tekken, Yoshinori Ono, and Tekken series Director, Katsuhiro Harada. Commenting on the origins of this project Yoshinori Ono said: “This is history we're making. Two fighting games that have rivalled each other are finally standing on the same stage. This isn't just a showdown between Tekken and Street Fighter, but a decisive battle for Capcom and Namco Bandai Games. So I'm going to give it my all.”
Dead Space 2 will release at the 25th of January 2011 and show you what Isaac does 3 years after the Ishimura incident. This time Isaac won't be the mute, however. Proof of that is found in the new trailer called "Bloodbath".
