Nearly 3 Minutes of Mass Effect 2 Combat

Shepard kicks space zombie ass!

What I'm Playing This Weekend

Time for another Personal Gaming update. It's the weekend again and I managed to find myself a few hours back yesterday night to play Borderlands. I finally tried the co-operative mode and it is fun, fun, fun! I hosted a game, which made me the team leader and the man who decides which mission is taken. I had 3 team members which were all at least ten levels above me and that automatically makes the enemies harder to kill. But a good thing is that money and experience are shared, so I could level up from level 9 to level 18 in about 4 hours. To make it short: I really like this game and even when I had doubts about finding the time to play Borderlands, the decision to buy it was so right.

And I got addicted to Street Fighter IV's Championship Mode! Slowly a climb up the ladder. Now I am G2-E and I will try to rise as much as possible. Thing is, players on the G2 level are experienced fighters and it's hard to beat them. But I won't stop trying, Blanka The Beast never gives up!

German Left 4 Dead 2 Video Feature

Did you know that the German version of Left 4 Dead 2 gets exclusive Counter Strike: Source weapons? But why only the German version? Counter Strike still is a big deal in the German E-Sports scene, I guess.

Funny Modern Warfare 2 Ad

It's a Walmart advertisment for Modern Warfare 2 and it's funny. Enjoy!

If you like to listen to videogame soundtracks as much as me, I have a present for you. Four new songs of the JRPG everyone is waiting for, Final Fantasy XIII. Enjoy!

Not so interesting, but I heard people are hyped about this game.

Dragon Age: The Circle Tower

Another quest awaits!

Just Cause 2: The Sandbox of Your Dreams

Makes me wanna own this game!

Halloween Army of Two

The Army of Two celebrates Halloween.

Bioshock 2 Blowout

Some new infos are revealed here. The Big Sister is not alone. Actually there's a bunch of them, they are tools of Rapture's new mistress Sophia Langdon. The hacking mini game is changed into a reaction thing, which I think is propably not the best idea. Multiplayer has it's own CTF mode called Capture The Sister. And some of the new weapons are detailed. The game is released in early February 2010, the time when everybody will be on his/her second Mass Effect 2 playthrough.

Battlefield: BC2 CE Trailer

Kinda imbalanced when not all players have the Collector's Edition.

Just Did It

I've just been at my local game dealer and bought the Borderlands AT Uncut. 87 bazillion guns, that's just what I need now.

AC: Lineage Part 1

15 minutes of the Assassin's Creed II movie. I found it entertaining.

SA Borderlands Review

Well, then it sounds like the perfect game for me.

MW2's Spec Ops Mode Gameplay

One player rushes through the level while the other fires bombs from above. Certainly cooler than the 3rd person mode.

Borderlands Still Looks Awesome

Well, I think Borderlands looks like a great experience. As I've written earlier and you, dear subscriber, propably noticed by the slow flow of fresh posts here on Personal Gaming, thanks to my Bachelor studies I nearly have no time for anything. I said the next game I'd buy would be Dragon Age: Origins and that won't change. But as Borderlands looks so great and I am really not sure with which of the two games I'd more fun I am considering getting both and decide then which one to play first. Propably I'll really do this. With Op Flash 2 not appealing to me, which is a shame because I hyped it up so badly, I ended playing Street Fighter IV again. This can't continue for ever. I need a fresh and nice fall game.
(Yeah, I know, a weird post, but this comes from having more problems and work than is good.)

GT Tekken 6 Review

Did anyone really think Tekken would ever come close to Street Fighter?

Latest Bioshock 2 Trailer Blows You Away

Think about the multiplayer what you want, but the campaign will again be above all criticism. Check out this latest trailer!
Another nice thing that at the end of this month we will have a gameplay blowout. Oh, sweet!

Darkspawn, Kill 'Em All!

I can't wait to experience Bioware's latest take on fantasy. This game looks like much fun. While there seem to be some graphic bugs, the first thing I'll do, is to set the subtitles off.

The Tool Set will be PC only.

Uncharted: Eye of Indra

Uncharted: Eye of Indra is a graphic novel strenghtening the release of Uncharted 2. It presents another adventure of the protagonist Nathan Drake: Drake is hired to find a worthy amulet, the so called Eye of Indra. But his quest giver is a criminal person and soon Drake finds himself tied and beaten up.
The graphic novel is fun to watch, but sadly it is filled up with advertisments for the game itself and an off road vehicle.

Some good ones I didn't yet know are in this Top Ten!

Uncharted 2 Mo Cap

A look behind the scenes of Uncharted 2: Motion Capturing.

And another Making Of:

And more:

19 Minutes Dragon Age: Origins Gameplay

Giant Bomb put out a 19 minutes Dragon Age: Origins gameplay session. The guys playing talk too much weird stuff, but anyway, it gives you a pretty much good impression of how the game actually plays. It's the dwarven origin.

New Bioshock 2 SP Gameplay Is Great

GTtv and it's host Geoff Keighly visited 2k Marin and checked out some fresh new gameplay of Bioshock 2's single player campaign. It's looking great! Can't wait until February 2010. Bioshock is still one of my favorite games of all time.

Check out the gameplay here! (In case the embedded below isn't working!)

AVGN: Castlevania Part II

The Angry Video Game Nerd continues his Halloween Special with the second part of his Castlevianathon.

Dead Space Fans, Check This Movie Out

The name of the movie is Pandorum and I just came back from the cinema. The mood very much remembered me of Dead Space. The story is a mix of Event Horizon, Alien and Solaris. In the year 2176 earth is a wasted place. In an attempt to reach a newly discovered earth like planet, the giant space vessel Elysium is send out. It's a ship as big as a metropolis with thousands of seedlers and all the stuff that is needed to colonize the planet. Because the journey is long the people are send in hyper sleep. When a young crewmember awakens he finds out that something is terribly wrong.
What I liked is that Pandorum had a surprisingly good ending. Definitely worth a watch.

Dragon Age Gets It's Own Browser Game

With Dragon Age: Origins' release nearing the hype machine is rolling at it's peak. Now I stumbled over this trailer of a Dragon Age browser game. It's called Dragon Age: Journeys and based on this trailer it is very cartoony. Strangely the game's homepage isn't reachable.

Assassin's Creed: Lineage

Assassin's Creed sold very well and this year the sequel is released. But as if that weren't enough, there's even a movie in production. Good news is that it is done by the creators of 300 and Sin City. And that two movies were outstanding.

Borderlands Is For Real Gamers

Would you dare to disagree?

Dante's Inferno: Lust Makes You Vomit

Congratulations, Visceral Games, that's some sick shit you created. I never wanna meet such pussy and titties in real life.

Borderlands Delivers

Good to see that Borderlands holds up to it's promises. On gamerankings it's about 86% with no review being lower than 8/10.
However, my studies began again and I realized, that I will have neither time nor money to get Borderlands or Brütal Legend in the next days or weeks. Some time in November I will get Dragon Age: Origins and that should be it until christmas. Damn, I had to be rich and unemployed. Rich... and unemployed. Hmmm....

Darksiders: Box Art, Release Date, Trailer

Darksiders is coming in January 2010. On January 7th and 8th in Europe and Asia, the United States and Canada get the game a few days earlier on January 5th.
Damn, so many good games and no time and money to play them. I am definitely looking forward for this game.

First Borderlands Review Is Out

Kotaku are the first to publicize their review. Here's the conclusion.

Borderlands gets a lot of things right, in particular the balance between being a first-person shooter and being a role-playing game. The shooting mechanics are sound, as are many of the role-playing aspects, save for a few design quirks. Growing and customizing my level 35 Siren was a great deal of fun, when the tedium of all that walking around didn't spoil it. But where Borderlands excels is in offering a functional four-player cooperative loot-hoarding experience, with gorgeous environments to adventure in and smartly crafted items to collect or covet.

The game has a few faults, including its traveling inefficiencies—a weak map combined with plenty of long-range fetch quests—and its mostly forgettable story line, but it's still relatively easy to recommend, provided you can tap into the best portions of Borderlands, its cooperative multiplayer modes.

I still don't know if this game will be the right for me. I am not a co-operative player. Let's wait for more reviews.

Throw Your Killergames Away

In Germany happened an action against killergames, organized by the parents of the shot children of this year's Winnenden School Massacre. The shooter played Counter Strike and Far Cry 2 and of course all problems are solved once we throw our killergames (love the term) away. The action sadly wasn't a success with only a handful of games thrown away (for the camera).
Germany is such a great nation... propably not.

Silent Hill - The Katana

This video brought some memories of the first Silent Hill for Playstation back up. I had the Katana myself and it was cool. But was it really the best weapon? You as well could find a big fire axe and it was strong. Check out this entertaining user movie from GT:

Bayonetta's Action Is Great

Yeah, Bayonetta's action looks over the top. And games of this genre need over the top action. But watching more of this demo gameplay I found myself thinking of Devil May Cry 4 meets Sonic The Hedgehog.

Army of Two's Choices

This is a dev walktrough that shows you some of the choices that can be made in the course of the game. Free or kill the hostages? That is your choice. The game is out in january 2010.

The Saboteur: Stealth Or Action?

The Saboteur is an open world third person game that plays in World War II's French. In this dev walkthrough a bit of sneaking and climbing as well as shooting is shown. So far it really looks solid. One thing I noticed is the look of it. Everything seems black and white, but blood is spread redly. Gives you this Sin City atmosphere. The game is coming December 8th and is made by Pandemic, the team that did Mercenaries II.

Assassin's Creed 2: The Killing

Assassin's Creed II, the sequel to Ubi's extremely well selling Assassin's Creed from 2007, is looking like it has greatly improved from the original. The first game suffered from repetitive gameplay and a weird story. The gameplay is better, as you can see in this and the other dev diaries, but the story is propably the same old weak point. You know, time shifting memories and bullshit like that.
Anyway, Assassin's Creed II looks hot and the release is nearing, one more month to go for all AC fans.

God of War Collection Trailer

The so called God of War Collection is a remastered package of the first two God of War games coming to the Playstation 3 on one Blu Ray. The games got an HD makeover and the collection is intended to be released before the launch of God of War III to give uninformed gamers the chance to catch up with Kratos' past. If you haven't played those two games on PS2, this will be the perfect chance!

AVP 3: Alien Trailer

Finally a trailer that is showing the Alien as playable character. H.R. Giger created a walking nightmare with this thing. I remember that it was the worst monster I've been afraid of as little child. Will I have what it takes to stand through the fear of playing this game?

Dragon Age: Origins: The Creatures

Damn, look at that dragon! There are some really nice animations in this video. Better ones than I'd expected for the game, to be honest.

Thursday, October 15, 2009

New Splinter Cell Conviction Gameplay Is Fast And Bloody

Fast and bloody. Less stealth and more (simplified) action, I'd say. Looks like a nice and short experience.

Borderlands: 30 Minutes Co-Op Gameplay

GiantBomb put half an hour of Borderlands co-op gameplay online. For many people interested in the game like me, this is a must see video to get more knowledge about the game and to decide whether Brütal Legend or Borderlands will be bought.

Fist of The North Star Coming For PS360 - Leaked Gameplay

Are you an old skool otaku? Than you might know Fist of The North Star, an ultra brutal but today ridiculous anime series. However, a game on the subject is in development by Koei. Beneath you can see the first leaked cam gameplay and some scans. I've also added some funny videos of the anime for you to get into the material. But as I've heard the game is more oriented on the manga series, but I honestly don't know if that makes a difference. Perhaps this game will stay japan only, but we will see that.
