Sony officially announced the PS3 Slim today (the man in the pic is none other than Kaz Hirai). Like the PSP Go it leaked early, but now it's official. The PS3 Slim will cost 299 € or $ depending on which continent you're living on. Sony's Jack Tretton said that the new PS3 Slim will be available in the first week of september. Time for some numbers: 32% smaller, 36% lighter and 34% less power eating.
The price of the good old PS3 is now down to 299,- as well. And it won't be made anymore. In fact since weeks only slim versions are produced.
To be honest, I liked the design of the old better. But that's how it's going now. Here are some hardware close ups:
