Knight's Contract - Debut Trailer And Screens

Definitely a brutal hack'n'slay. Coming 2011 to PS3 and Xbox 360. It plays in Germany at 1700 and is loosely based on Goethe's Faust. A classic title many German pupils read in school. Click here for a lot of screenshots.

Set in the surroundings of Germany in the 1700s, the game deals with two historical elements: witch hunts and the legend of Faust. In the Knights Contract storyline, Faust is an evil alchemist who lead a series of witch hunts that resulted in the deaths of many. The person tasked with performing the execution of these witches was an executioner named Heinrich.

One witch, Gretchen, was scheduled to be executed last amongst a group of 7. Just before her death, she placed a curse of immortality on Heinrich. Because of this, Heinrich became suspected of being a party to the witches, and was chased throughout Europe for a century's time.

Now in the present, Gretchen has been revived and wants to defeat Faust. Heinrich agrees to serve as her protector in exchange for having his mortality eventually returned to him.

In Knights Contract, you take control of Heinrich and face off against Faust's army of Homunculus creatures. The game features grotesque creature designs and over-the-top violence, with blood spraying as you slash away at your foes, seas of blood forming as you advance through the stages, and flashy quick timer-style "Execution Attacks" for finishing moves.

Heinrich makes use of swords and weapons that are larger than his whole body. However, he can also make use of his bare hands to pull enemies in and toss them away. As you advance in the game, you'll gain access to "combo actions," where Heinrich pulls in an enemy with his bare hands, then turns to his weapon for the kill.

The best part about playing as Heinrich is that he's immortal, and thus can't die, even when attacked by enemies. You die in Knights Contract when Gretchen, who accompanies Heinrich (or maybe it's the other way around), incurs damage and loses all her HP.

You'll have to keep Gretchen safe. But she's not just dead weight. She supports Heinrich with her special witch craft magic. Using this, Gretchen can do such things as freeze enemies, by, for example, trapping them in a guillotine that she makes appear on the battle field. She can also strengthen Heinrich's weapons, even changing their form.

You only have direct control over Heinrich. Gretchen moves according to AI routines. However, you can simple issue commands to her.

Killzone 3 Officially Announced

With levels ten time the size of Killzone 2 and 3D.

The Helghast are back. Killzone 3 announced for PlayStation 3

The war is far from won. Get ready for an epic battle against the deadliest enemies on PS3

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed the return of its iconic first person shooter, Killzone, to PlayStation 3. Bringing back the trademark ferocious action on a grand scale, Killzone 3 is an explosive cinematic experience more intense than ever before. Loaded with more vehicles, explosive high powered weapons and a vicious close-combat system, resume the fight against a remorseless Helghast Army of colossal proportions. This is David vs. Goliath…if Goliath had thousands of troops and a thermonuclear arsenal.

The story begins where Killzone 2 left off, with Visari, the vicious Helghast dictator, lying dead at the feet of Special Forces soldiers Sev and Rico. The battle may have been won but the war is far from over. Visari’s death has left behind a world of political scheming, infighting and outright murder. Meanwhile his parting gift, a nuclear bomb detonated in Phyruss, the Helghan Capital, has decimated the ISA invasion force. With no re-enforcements and supplies quickly running out, you must now fight against ruthless Helghast war machine alone.

An epic cinematic war experience

With levels ten times bigger than in Killzone 2, this is Helghan like you’ve never seen it before. You’ll face brutal combat in a host of environments that threaten to bury you on the deadly planet. Killzone 3 will see you trudge through toxic nuclear wastelands, get lost in a lethal alien jungle, fight in bitter arctic conditions and take the battle into space as you fight against Helghast domination – with every location featuring a distinct gameplay style for you to master.

Be at the centre of the action

Killzone 3 will be fully playable in Stereoscopic 3D, immersing you more deeply into the ferocious world and putting you at the heart of the action. But be careful. While you experience this world in incredible, High Definition, Stereoscopic 3D detail – you’ll learn to fear what’s around every single corner.

Take on an even more vicious Helghast army

The Helghast are back and they’re bigger and fiercer than you’ve ever seen them. From Jetpack troopers to enemies wielding portable weapons of mass destruction, your enemies will be tougher, scarier and equipped with a host of new toys in their quest for destruction.

Red Dead Is Here

Red Dead is finally here. In fact, the game plays a big role in the lack of updates recently. I just couldn't put the pad away - it's that amazing! I am so impressed by this game! John Marston is a Rockstar protagonist as we love them: With a criminal past he takes the law in his own hand. The far sight is so... far! The weather system is exactly as great as in GTA IV - but a lightning storm in the desert is different from one in Liberty City, trust me. Drives the caddle crazy. But I don't want to spoil too much. Okay, two little things that want to mention before I'll put the game in again: The sound is awesome - not only the stylish western music, but especially the sound of the environment. You'll hear cojotes howling, birds tweeting, snakes rattling, horses making horse noises... It sounds so real, my dog didn't stop barking, I had to ban him from my room. The other thing is: My John Marston went to have a few drinks at the saloon in Armadillo. Later he was so incredibly drunk, he couldn't walk anymore. He fell in the dirt with his head at least four times. The drunken state of mind takes not as little time as in Grand Theft Auto IV, he's been drunk minutes long, making him nearly unable to maneuver. As John Marston lay drunk with his head in the dirt, there was a drama and I couldn't stop it because of the drunkenness: The dirty criminal stabbed a lady and I couldn't help her. I clearly could have if I hadn't made John so drunken. Left a bitter taste. Great what this game does with your emotions!
Damn, I could write much more about this game and I will at another point in time. However, the game is great, go buy it.

Red Dead Redemption Scores High

Rockstar's latest masterpiece Red Dead Redemption gets highest ratings. Right now it has an average of incredible 96% based on 12 reviews on gamerankings.com. Personally I can't wait for my Special Edition, which I preordered months ago in full trust of Rockstar's abilities. Let's have a closer look on what the reviews have to say:

GT: "The atmosphere and gameplay fit together almost perfectly." 9.5/10

IGN UK - 9.7/10

Red Dead Redemption is a must-play game. Rockstar has taken the Western to new heights and created one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around. You can expect the occasional bug or visual hiccup, but you can also expect a fantastic game that offers the Western experience we've all been waiting for. Red Dead Redemption is a complete game in every sense -- both the single player and multiplayer modes are excellent -- and still manages to offer an attention to detail you rarely see from a game of this scope.

IGN AU - 9.8/10

Early in the adventure, when you take your steed for a ride, perhaps off the path and in pursuit of a wild boar or hare, and suddenly the land drops away revealing the vast expanse of desert – all of it explorable, reachable, conquerable – you'll have 'a moment'. When you've taken down your first bounty with a lasso and haul him back to town squirming on the back of your horse, you'll experience another. Red Dead Redemption is full to bursting with sequences that will give cause for pause. It tries its hand at so many concepts – minigames, micro-economies, easter eggs, racing and some very lush surprises – and it nails each of them almost flawlessly; it makes the whole proposition look so tightly woven and easy to digest that it surely points to exactly how hard Rockstar has worked to make it so.

Look, here comes the hyperbole; you'll have to excuse us on this one, but Red Dead Redemption surely deserves heaped praise: this is a momentous gaming experience; one that marries artistry with supreme design rarely seen. If there's a textbook on how to be referent to a classic genre while always pressing forward, Red Dead Redemption is the byline. Wonderful.

CVG - 9.5/10

Red Dead Redemption is not just a game that you love to play - it's a life you'll never want to leave. And when you do finally pull yourself back into the real world, you'll seriously consider buying a horse.

It's a tremendously detailed and authentic realisation of the Wild West with great stories, characters and inner workings. Buy it now.

1 Up - A

Anyway, Red Dead is a great game to climb into and just live for a while, and that's everything I wanted. In fact, I'm actually feeling pretty annoyed that I'm not wandering around in there right now. Stupid videogame reviews. There are herds to save, outlaws to kneecap, frontier ladies to rescue, random strangers to tie up and drop off a cliff for no reason, and sunsets that need riding off into.

LOL: Street Fighter High

Street Fighter High is the high school of the World Warriors. Very cool and funny!
