You See The Parallels?
These are screenshots and photos from a Der Spiegel article. Basically it is saying that today's shooters look like the world wars, just that today you don't fight nazis but aliens.
Well, there is a resemblance...

Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 Elite... Preordered!
There is one problem I have. Don't laugh, for me it is a problem indeed. Thing is I moved in an apartment to live near my university. Of course my 360 moved with me, because after all that learning I love to play a few rounds whenever I find time. Some weekends I travel back home and you know what, then I have no 360 at home, which really sucks. I tried to play my old consoles, but I can't stop thinking about playing Xbox 360 and all the great games my library contains. Always taking the damn thing with me is too uncomfortable, my laptop already weighs enough. There is a need for a second 360 you see.
Since I own my first Xbox 360 since early 2006 (can you say "first" when you had to send it in three times?) I am going into full power now and will definitely buy an Elite.
Sadly I missed that christmas specials with an Elite for 250€ but now I saw a cool package. It's the special Resident Evil 5 Elite. It's a bundle that contains a blood red Xbox 360 Elite with 120 GB hard drive and a copy of Resident Evil 5, a blood red controller, a black head set and a download code for Super Street Fighter II HD Remix (!).
I think Resident Evil 5 is a nice bonus and to choose from an black Elite without extra games or a red with extra games that is sooo limited for the same price, well, I guess I chose as most people would do.
I preordered this thing now and who knows, due to it's strict limitation it is not save that I will get one. Just wish me luck!
Dragon Age: Origins Coming To Consoles
Wow, last time I said that Dragon Age: Origins would be a PC exclusive. Seems that I've been wrong. After seeing this great new trailer I travelled to the game's official page and found out that it is coming for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as well! It's coming in the second half of 2009 - I'll mark it on my list. Another Bioware RPG for the 360, yeah, can't believe it!
Welcome to the World of Dragon Age: Origins!
DA:O is BioWare’s return to its roots – a dark heroic fantasy game that combines original storytelling techniques with classic roleplaying.
Origin stories are a major feature of the Dragon Age experience. You choose your origin, and from that starting point, your story begins. You play through your character’s early days, defining his or her background and motivation and begin to learn more about the world of Ferelden from your own distinct perspective. Your choice of origin defines how you will view the world and how it views you. Choose a sneaky, disrespected commoner and you will play a story that focuses around subtle skills and careful wordplay. Choose a noble origin and the world will be much more positive and helpful, but those jealous of your status will not be afraid to take what you have, violently if necessary. More will be revealed on these stories soon…
In Dragon Age, your choices change the world and affect the people around you. Certain situations, storylines, and conversation options will change drastically depending on your origin and your motivations.
Every journey through Ferelden will be unique.
Halo Wars VS Dawn of War II
Both are Real Time Strategy, but Halo Wars is a 360 exclusive and Dawn of War II only for PC. GT's score is nearly the same for both and so I think it's a platform question or one of personal choice. Which one would you choose?
Resident Evil Series Will Reboot With RE6
That's what 1Up reports after interviewing Jun Takeuchi. The full interview will be made public tomorrow and I am interested to read the cause of Capcom's concern. After all there are only a few small things that need to be fixed to make RE5's gameplay as good as Dead Space's.
But I'd like to see Resident Evil going back to the roots and away from the shooter genre.
Editor's Note: It Takes a Nation of Millions
In what is destined to be the first genuinely epic game of 2009, Resident Evil 5 is practically guaranteed to be the last of its kind, with the game's producer, Jun Takeuchi, assuring us that a reboot is in order for the inevitable Resident Evil 6. That's not to suggest that there's anything wrong with the evil at hand. Quite the opposite; it's awesome fun, and we've beaten the game from beginning to end, and have a week's worth of detailed, insider info for you to enjoy. Check out our exclusive interview, videos of unseen levels, and our final hands-on preview to
see if Capcom's controversial new survival-horror game lives up to its legacy.

Fallout 3: Reached Level 20
Fallout 3 - the game that never ends. I am still playing this game, being unable to finish it. My playcount is now at over 45 hours and I've reached Level 20 with good karma.
That wasn't for sure because of that little incident over at Tenpenny Tower.
I went there by accident when I was on the way to the other Vault to find Dad. It's such a huge building that I could see it on the horizon and I wanted to know what it was. Of course, as a Galaxy News Radio listener I knew that there was a thing going on. And that is that the rich citizens of Tenpenny Tower didn't allow some ghouls to live in that tower. I went in and met the citizens and they were all so arrogant and thought they were something better. Except Herbert "Daring" Dashwood perhaps, he was a nice guy and talked sense. You might know him from his show at GNR. I went to the upper stories to talk the conflict out, but all I met was the Allistair Tenpenny, an old egocentric mesantroph that had no understanding for the ghouls. He even shot people from his balcony for fun.
I went down into the underground to find the ghouls. In my opinion they deserved to live in Tenpenny Tower more than those rich bastards that forgot what hell the wasteland could be. Time I showed them... I sneaked back into the tower and opened an underground passage so that the ghouls and feral ghouls could crawl inside and clean the whole tower ethnically. That was a little much, but how could I know? It instantly lowered my karmalevel from good to bad! And Three Dog no flames me on his show!
I did what I thought was right and it's a fascinating thing how it worked out in the game.
Well, then I joined forces with the regulators, some cowboy people that pay me caps and good karma for killing bad guys and taking their fingers to them as proof. And I kill many bad guys.
After that I finally finished the Wasteland Survival Guide - the quest that you get right in the beginning in Megaton. That was a lot of work - especially now where the Enclave is on the search for me. And I constantly have to battle their soldiers in power armors.
And the last thing I am going to tell you of my adventures in the wasteland is the story of me saving Canterbury Commons. It's a small town on the east of the wastes and is terrorized by two superheros and their wretches. The AntAgonizer and the Mechanist run a full scale war with giant insects and robots and their battlefield is the town of Canterbury Commons. So the town's major asked me to get rid of them, one way or the other.
The Mechanist
The AntAgonizer
At first I went into the AntAgonizer's lair, which was a deep cave. When I finally found here I used my high speech ability to talk some sense into her. She realized that she'd gone too far and gave me her strange armor. I put it on just for fun and made me on my way to the Mechanist.
He lived on the other side of the town and when I marched in in his factory I just had forgot that I was still wearing the AntAgonizers armor. When he saw me he came and screamed something like "AntAgonizer, how can you dare it coming into my castle!" and immediatly started attacking me. Well, I had no other chance than blasting his head off.
Problem solved. Got a big amount of caps for the bringing of peace.
That's enough for today. I just wanted to show you how great the world of Fallout 3 is and how you can do things and what the consequences are. By the way, with reaching level 20 I chose the explorer perk which gives you every location on the map. Can you believe that in 45 hours of playing Fallout 3 I've seen only a third of all places?? This game is so huge, no need for DLC from me.
Next target location: The slaver town of Paradise Falls. Gonna get some fingers there for sure.

Street Fighter IV: My Impressions
So yeah, this weekend I got my copy of the latest Street Fighter game, Street Fighter IV. I've played Street Fighter since it first appeared on the SNES and later the Mega Drive and know the series quite good. Hell, I even played that shitty 3D Street Fighter on the first Playstation. Not to speak of those Marvel vs. Capcom games and the Alpha series. Only Street Fighter III was so unpopular, that I didn't manage to play it. However, since last november's release of Super Street Figher II Turbo HD Remix I am once again addicted to exciting matches of Ryu, Ken and the SF family. I've played HD Remix every week since launch online in ranked multiplayer and to be honest, that's very rare for me, because I am much more of a single player that preferes the good stories and great campaigns instead of playing hourlong hectic matches with 12 year old pupils or 50 year old unemployed in popular multiplayer games like CoD4 or the infamous World of Warcraft. And that's the great thing about Street Fighter - just play a few rounds in between or before you go to bed.
I've been very excited about Street Fighter IV, having played it on Leipzig Games Convention and having observed every trailer (the most of the SF IV trailers are just too good). Hell, I even ordered that Fight Stick, because I can't do supertricks in the stress ofHD Remix's ranked matches. The Fight Stick is delayed in Europe and so this weekend just the raw game arrived at my house.
I've managed to play a few hours and I will tell you my honest personal opinion of the game:
The Contras:
- The main menu song is just gay. Since when is Street Fighter's target audience a bunch of 13year old girls? Just patch this away, Capcom!
- The soundtrack in general is only average. Too many techno beats and too little of that Street Fighter style music as in HD Remix, which was just genius.
- After playing HD Remix, Street Fighter IV just feels slow. The Turbo is missing, but looking and the series history I give Capcom only a few months till the next iteration with Turbo is announced.
- 3D... Thank god they made it 2D gameplaywise, but sometimes I missed the clear 2D of previous games.
- The new button set up. Since when is hard punch on the right? It's hard to get used to that.
- Unlocking many characters. I play Street Fighter mostly for the multiplayer, so why am I forced to unlock so many characters?
- Where's Dee Jay? He deserves to be in the rooster just the same as Cammy and even more than Fei Long!
- Why are there so few stages? Different daytimes don't count! And why doesn't every character have it's own stage?
- The online matchmaking. I had to set up matches, because otherwise I weren't able to join existing games. And where's the tournament game we know from HD Remix?
- If online is lagging you can just forget it. HD Remix still feels "right" when it lags.
The Pros:
- The art style. I just love cel shading and in this game it feels perfect.
- It feels like Street Fighter should feel. Just throw a few Sonic Booms or Hadokens and you know that it's not Tekken.
- The new characters. Especially C.Viper could become a new favorite of mine.
- There's some kind of experience system for multiplayer. Didn't figure out yet how it works, but it's nice for long time players.
- The anime sequences in the arcade mode. While Street Fighter isn't famous for it's story, these movies are pretty entertaining.
- Unlocking so many things. It's always cool to see some extra stuff when you finish certain goals.
That's all that comes to my mind now. Looks like I wouldn't like Street Fighter IV, but that's not the case. I think it's game that I will play a long time from now, but to be honest, it doesn't reach the genius of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix!

Dirt 2 Interview
Multiplayer will be with multi cars and you will be able to race in exotic countries like Malaysia. It's coming in September for 360 and PS3. And Wii... Can't wait to see how poor it will look on that waste of money.

Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay Trailer
Many people forget that with Starbreeze's upcoming masterpiece The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena there is the first Riddick game Escape from Butcher Bay included as HD Remix. In lack of an oldbox I have never played this game and wondered about it. I've only heard good things about it and isn't it a great perspective to get two great games for the price of one? I mean even Xzibit play a role in Escape from Butcher Bay, no kidding!
Mass Effect 2 Artworks Video
Thought it would be time to create a new video. Beautiful artworks, can't wait to see some more stuff. After all Mass Effect still is one of my favorite Xbox 360 games.
Edit: Hey, just found out that Destructoid linked this article. Wow, I'm honored, but : Too be honest, I've hotlinked the pic myself.
Lost Planet 2 Announced
Jun Takeuchi shows you his second big project after Resident Evil 5. It's Lost Planet 2. I played the first Lost Planet - it was a nice shooter, but too linear and the story was just garbage. And it sucked that you always were in a hurry.
Looks like this has changed now - no more freezes due to the fact that the planet had a clima change and in ten years (!) there grew a jungle. Uhmm, story...
Lets see. Personally I look much more forward too Dark Void.

Singularity Trailer
In this FPS you can manipulate time. Wait, didn't we had this already? Have a look at the trailer. I can't yet decide wether it's great or garbage. Time will tell. (Haha, got it?)
Mass Effect 2 Debut Trailer
Wow, didn't expect to see a trailer right now. But what do they mean with Shepard "Killed in Action"? This better be not true or me and many other fanboys will set the internet in flames! And that after the talk of one character build up through all three planned Mass Effect games. What did last week's documentary say again?
"You'll be able to take that save game and create a character in Mass Effect 2."
