EA doesn't let it franchises just die like that. After the disclosure of EA Black Box the word was out that Criterion (Burnout) would do the next Need For Speed title in 2010. But as today's news are a game called Need For Speed: Shift is in programming and will be released this fall! I bet your nightmares stop now, right? Even 2009 will get it's NFS game, this time made by the Slightly Mad Studios who are known for their games like GT Legends and GTR2. Shift is said to be more realistic.
But even the Wii will now get it's own Need For Speed game called Need for Speed Nitro. It's developed by EA Montreal and will be more cartoony.
