This might interest all of you Street Fighter fans out there that planned are already have purchased one of the Fight Sticks from Mad Catz. Interview by 1Up:
1UP: In your estimate, roughly how many units have been impacted? You said "a very small amount" but the outpouring on forums would seem to suggest otherwise.
Alex Verrey: We have shipped tens of thousands of standard Arcade FightSticks. I can assure you, the number of consumers who have actually contacted us with this issue numbers well under 50 to date. Remember, I am committed to being honest here and the honest answer is that it's impossible and futile to estimate how many sticks can or may be effected. This really is a very small minor issue, one now rectified. We honestly estimate that a very small number of consumers will be effected. The internet being how it is, it's perhaps inevitable that we're only hearing from those who have an issue. I certainly haven't seen tens of thousands of users post comments that their stick is fine and working perfectly, then again, why would they?! Nevertheless, I still believe it's somewhat of a moot point. Those who have an issue will have the issue fixed. By us. Free of charge. We even pay for postage and packing. We ask that consumers relax. It is almost certain that there will be no issue and for the few who have a problem, we are already set up to rectify it for free and quickly.
At least I am now sure what the real reason is that the Fight Sticks are delayed in Europe for weeks.
