E3 2009 Final Fantasy XIV And MGS Rising Lost Exclusiveness?

MGS Rising was the big surprise on Microsoft's press conference and Final Fantasy XIV the same on Sony's press conference. It wasn't said that MGS Rising will be released only on 360 but that was highly likely with no appearing on Sony's press conference (Kojima had something different in his sleeve). Final Fantasy XIV was announced as exclusive by Jack Tretton.
Seems like both games might see the other platform. Kotaku writes:
Sony's head of marketing for the PS3 confirmed that the next console Metal Gear Solid is not an Xbox 360 exclusive or even a timed one.

Despite being announced by Hideo Kojima at Monday's Microsoft press conference, Peter Dille, Sony's head of marketing for PlayStation in the U.S., told Kotaku today that the expected hit will also be available for his customers promptly. "Look forward to playing it on a PS3," he said when we inquired if it was a Microsoft exclusive.

But now have a look at what 1Up reports:
Sony boss Jack Tretton may have spoken a bit too soon when he said that Final Fantasy XIV would be exclusively on PS3. At today's Square Enix press conference, senior VP Shinji Hashimoto stated that the company is "considering all options" for platforms, and noted specifically that Microsoft hardware is a possibility. Though the game is only planned for PlayStation 3 and PC right now, the company is clearly open to putting it on the Xbox 360.

That's videogame politics. Sony says bla to Microsoft and the counter is inevitable. But the Final Fantasy XIV counter comes from Square themselves. Seems like both companies lost fuel in the ongoing holy console war that some think it is.
So much for exclusiveness in today's world.
