Played Some Demos
I took myself the time to check out some of the new demos out on XBL marketplace.
At first I played 'The Force Unleashed'. Even though the demo has little playtime, I have to say that I definitely liked it. The pacing is great and fast and the power of the force is enourmous. It somehow reminded me of 'God of War' with the main character, Starkiller (what a jerk name) is swinging his sword unbelievable fast. I'd like to see him cutting of stormtrooper body parts but sadly this is a non violent game for everyone. But anyway, it's a game that feels very good and that I have to have, because I'm a big Star Wars fan as well.
The second one I played was the 'Facebreaker' demo. Just hopped in short and didn't like it.
Now let's get it over to the awesome (you can really use this word based on the last releases) Xbox Live Arcade. I played the demo of 'Braid'. What do I say? It's a great game, so called Think'n'Run. Looks like Mario style... Mario finally grew up, you could say and learned to turn back time what leads to interesting puzzles. I love the stunning presentation of simply beautiful aquarel backgrounds in combination with classical music. Certainly the reason I'm going to pick up again some Microsoft points.
And the last demo was 'Castle Crashers' for XBL Arcade. It's a great retro like side scrolling beat 'em up with cartoon knights and lots of humor. Reminds me of those good old days when I played 'Streets of Rage' on my Mega Drive. But here you can upgrade your character like in a RPG. Sounds sweet, right? Yeah.
